This nonaviation book is too valuable not to share. The science is clear the results are unmistakable. Change your diet and dramatically reduce your risk of cancer, heart disease, diabetes and obesity. This is the most comprehensive study of nutrition ever conducted with startling implications for diet, weight loss and longterm health. It is challenging much of American dietary dogma.

By any measure, America's health is failing. We spend far more, per capita, on health care than any other society in the world, and yet twothirds of Americans are overweight, and more than 15 million Americans have diabetes. We fall prey to heart diease as often as we did thirty years ago. The War on Cancer, launched int he 1970's, has been a miserable failure. Half of all Americans have a health problem that requires taking a prescription drug every week, and more than 100 million Americans have high cholesterol.

To make matters worse, we are leading our youth down a path of disease earlier and earlier in their lives. Onethird of the children in this country are overweight or at risk of becoming overweight. Our kids are increasingly falling prey to a form of diabetes that used to be seen only in adults, and children now take more prescription drugs than ever before.

These issues all come down to three things: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The China Study presents a clear and concise message of hope as it dispels a multitude of health myths and misinformation: if you want to be healthy, change your diet.

"Reflects the profound changes that industrialization is bringing to diet and disease patterns in China, statistics that have had an impact on reevaluating dietary policy in the United States and worldwide." Washington Post

"[This] elaborate study . . . gives big points to the health value of . . . plantbased diets." Chicago Tribune

"This is one of the most important books about nutrition ever written—reading it may save your life." Dean Ornish, MD, Oprah Winfrey's personal physician, author, Dr. Dean Ornish's Program for Reversing Heart Disease and Love & Survival

"Today, AICR [American Institute for Cancer Research] advocates a predominantly plantbased diet for lower cancer risk because of the great work Dr. Campbell and just a few other visionaries began 25 years ago." Marilyn Gentry, president, AICR

Referred to as the "Grand Prix of epidemiology" by The New York Times, this study examines more than 350 variables of health and nutrition with surveys from 6,500 adults in more than 2,500 counties across China and Taiwan, and conclusively demonstrates the link between nutrition and heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. While revealing that proper nutrition can have a dramatic effect on reducing and reversing these ailments as well as curbing obesity, this text calls into question the practices of many of the current dietary programs, such as the Atkins diet, that are widely popular in the West. The politics of nutrition and the impact of special interest groups in the creation and dissemination of public information are also discussed.
